Slow Down and
Wake Up to your Life

Slow Down and Wake Up to the Wisdom of Your Heart.

What are we really so stressed out about?

Richard said in his book “You Can Be Happy No Matter What:” “Stress is nothing more than a socially accepted form of mental illness.” If stress were real, the same things would trigger each of us and our experience of stress would be universal. As a culture, we have bought into the idea that being busy and especially appearing busy are signs of productivity, and if we appear too relaxed then we are not producing at a competitive rate. We couldn’t be further off the mark, and our frenetic pace of life is not initiating any sort of peace and happiness in our lives nor higher productivity. It is proven that we are most clear and responsive to life when we are calm and centered thus increasing our ability to access creativity and decisive thinking.

If someone told you tomorrow that you had one week to live, do you think you would be immersed in the same thoughts and problems that you perceive today?

Celebrating a Don’t Sweat Mom: Courtney Wigley

Biggest Challenge of Being a Mom

Courtney: My biggest challenge has been the balance of the Mommy, Wife, Individual dance. Finding a way to balance all those things really blindsided me in the beginning. I felt as though I had lost myself. I have learned that Me Time, usually in the morning, is very valuable. It allows me to charge up and face the day with a refreshed attitude.

I am Courtney the chef, housekeeper, nurse, teacher, wife, and million other things, but I am still Courtney. I still want to do things like go to school to be a hair stylist and open a shop with my best friend.

Being a Don’t Sweat Mom Means

Don't Sweat Mom

Courtney: Being a Don’t Sweat Mom means stepping back and taking a look at the big picture. Seeing that the small day to day things aren’t always what matters. To realize that I may not get all the chores done in one day, because it’s better to spend an hour playing with my son than an hour folding laundry. I don’t need to stress about the little stuff. It will get done!

A Wish For Other Moms

Courtney: For one day, write down all the things that you stress about. The small things, the big things, anything that elevates your stress level. At the end of the day take a look at your list. If you’re like me, the majority of those things will be small and trivial. This will help to put your day in perspective. This will help you realize that the only thing that matters is that you are there for your children, that you spent as much time with them as possible, and that you were able to take some “Me time” to recharge and refresh your soul. When you stress less you are able to live more.

Choose Happiness and Peace Over Stress

Choose Happiness and Peace Over Stress

Welcome to our new site designed especially to celebrate the Moms of this world!

Really, take a sigh of relief when you read “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff for Moms.” It’s all about strategies that help you stress less  and enjoy your family more!  And, that’s cause for celebration!

If you’re a mom that’s showing up here, chances are, you are already doing an awesome job as a parent. Truth is, all we need is a little lighthearted nudge, now and then, to wake us up to seeing our world renewed with a fresh set of “rose tinted” glasses and a new perspective.

Meaning, staying inspired is well over half the job we have to do as a Mom. If the woman is the heart of the home, and the heart of the home is happy, well, that says it all, doesn’t it?

Happiness and peace grow inside us like seedlings, and new growth must be nourished by self-care and strengthened with renewed passion. Happiness is not a pursuit; it is, however, a perspective. And, inner peace can’t be bought or sold but must be
cultivated within through life practice.  How you start your day and how you live your day is relevant to accessing your inner peace and wisdom and slowing down from the inside.

BREATHE! (You’ll see lots of chapters encouraging you to do more of what you do naturally.)

Become a Don’t Sweat Mom! Don’t sweat the small stuff— life is just too short to let the minor annoyances weigh you down and steal your joy.

Here’s this week’s question for you to ponder: How do you think choosing happiness and peace over stress will impact yours and your family’s life?

Treasure the Gifts of Life and Love,
Kris
